Sunny Karlsruhe

Eventhough we had been living in the south of Germany for 5 months now, we simply couldn’t believe that Karlsruhe is such a nice and sunny city, as we had heard from the very beginning. Since we were always travelling to different cities in Germany or other places in Europe, this weekend, most of the bBox members wanted to just ‘recharge batteries’ for the last intense working weeks in the bBox project.

Have a short walk with us, read and enjoy!

                                                                          Alter Friedhof (Old Grave Yard)

Karlsruhe is quite an international city. Being an IT very prolific area in the south of the country, there are a lot of students coming here from all over the world. Thus, you can hear all the different languages and strange accents at any corner. Just start your journey and shopping session all the way from Kronnenplatz to Europaplatz and you can easily be surprised by vivid city life.

In the very heart of the city one could hear nice music coming from… a music shop’s window?!! Yes! Very nice live performance, actually, and a good marketing approach, right? What better way to promote local bands and the music store than showing of your face and singing freely in a more or less open space?

As a matter of fact you can recognize the same approach, this time used in a clothing store. Music boommming in the woofers and two young people wearing the ‘hot’ clothes and doing what they seemed to know best: dancing.

          Pretty prepared for Easter, right?

                                                                   Stadtkirche

                                                           Schlosspark Karlsruhe

Our team leader has many so far undiscovered talents (see video below). Besides being a professional, he really can be a very good entertainer. So, he brought ‘toys’ so that we could all play different games with – quite suitable for a day in the park (e.g. petanque, or even frisby). :)

Hundreds of people in the same place, playing, enjoying the sun, felt really good for us, especially when accompanied by friends and work buddies, at the same time.

Geeks are geeks, no matter where they are. So, why not chilling out in the park with your PC? Just you…and your laptop. Thank heaven Paulo and Aldo did not bring their computers.

               Cheers,

                                Claudia
